From the Cover:

Percy is confused. When he awoke from his long sleep, he didn’t know much more than his name. His brain fuzz is lingering , even after the wolf Lupa told him he is a demigod and trained him to fight with the pen/sword in his pocket. Somehow Percy manages to make it to a camp for half-bloods, despite the fact that he has to keep killing monsters along the way. But the camp doesn’t ring any bells with him. The only thing he can recall from his past is another name: Annabeth.

Hazel is supposed to be dead. When she lived before, she didn’t do a very good job of it. Sure, she was an obedient daughter, even when her mother was possessed by greed. But that was the problem- when the Voice took over her mother and commanded Hazel to use her “gift” for an evil purpose, Hazel couldn’t say no. Now, because of her mistake, the future of the world is at risk. Hazel wishes she could ride away from it all on the stallion that appears in her dreams.

Frank is a klutz. His grandmother says he is descended from heroes and can be anything he wants to be, but he doesn’t see it. He doesn’t even know who his father is. He keeps hoping Apollo will claim him, because the only thing he is good at is archery-although not good enought to win camp war games. His bulky physique makes him feel like an ox, especially in front of Hazel, his closest friend at camp. He trusts her completely-enough to share the secret he holds close to his heart.

Beginning at the “other” camp for half-bloods and extending as far as the land beyond the gods, this breathtaking second installment in the Heroes of Olympus series introduces new demigods, revives fearsome monsters, and features other remarkable creatures, all destined to play a part in the Prophecy of Seven.

My Thoughts:

Well I have been anxiously awaiting this book and let me tell you that the birth of my son actually caused me to forget that this book was coming out. Blame it on the lack of sleep of having a newborn, or that I don’t have much free time but I was finally able to go to Barnes and Noble for the first time about a week ago and I saw it sitting there and I had to get it.

The Son of Neptune is just as amazing as any of the books Rick Riordan has written. Matter of fact I think it might be my favorite! It’s a hard call!

The Son of Neptune picked up sort of where The Lost Hero left off. We are now on the other side of the country seeing everything going on with Percy again! I love Percy so I am so glad he played such a big part! Percy finds “the other camp” and that is where we are introduced to lots of new characters! I really enjoyed Hazel, the daughter of Pluto. I love learning all the new demigods tricks and also learning more about them. I also really enjoyed Frank and how he continues to grow throughout the book.

Riordan did an amazing job with this addition to the Heroes of Olympus series and continuing the story! I loved learning more about the Prophecy of Seven. I loved the action and adventure especially to the land beyond the gods! I am always very happy to read one of Rick Riordan books. The characters are so believable and real. I love how the book is in third person and switches back and forth between characters. To make it easy for all of you I love every aspect of this book!!

I can’t wait for the next installment.

Blurb:

Born a genius; education, wealth, and prestige came easy to Logan Richards. Actually, there wasn’t much that Logan couldn’t learn or acquire. However, he knew there was determined to find the woman who he’d dreamed of his entire life and know what it was like to love her before he died.

Amber Lewis, a waitress for a five-star restaurant in, Dana Point, California, was overworked, stressed, and wary of life since her sister, Heather, had passed away. Then, one evening while working she fell hopelessly in love with Logan Richards, a chivalrous man who felt deeply familiar.

For Amber, it was the beginning of a voyage of self-discovery and renewal. For Logan, it was the completion of life. For each of them it was the deepest sort of love.

My Thoughts:

When Ms. Whittier approached me to read and review Across Eternity I instantly said yes. The blurb sounded so good and interesting. I wasn’t disappointed!

Reincarnation. Check. Love Story. Check. Great Characters. Check. What else could you need?

Logan and Amber are meant for each other, they are soul mates. Logan knows this but Amber doesn’t! As you turn the pages their story and journey comes alive.

The characters overall were great. I loved Amber. She was fun and had a great personality. My favorite part about Amber is you could certainly pick up her emotions. She is the kind of person that what you see is what you get. Logan was super sweet, handsome, incredibly smart and has a great family. They were all great additions to the story. I just wished we would have gotten to know them more.

Across Eternity was filled with wonderful descriptions. When Logan and Amber were in Ireland I felt like I was there with them.

Across Eternity is a pure and simple love story but it is a wonderful love story at that! Logan and Amber share a love that is passionate and beautiful and is an eternal love. It’s a love that we all wish for. This story kept me enticed until the very end it made me laugh and cry. It was definitely a satisfying read.

From the Cover:

Faith. Trust. Desire.

How far would you go to free the one you love?

Kelsey Hayes’s eighteenth summer was crazy. The kind of crazy that nobody would believe.

Aside from battling immortal sea monkeys and trekking the jungles of India, she fell in love with Ren, a 300 year old prince.

When danger suddenly forces Kelsey on another Indian quest with Ren’s bad boy brother, Kishan, the unlikely duo begins to question their true destiny. Ren’s life hangs in the balance-and so does the truth within Kelsey’s heart.

Tiger’s Quest, the thrilling second volume in the Tiger’s Curse series, bring s the trio one step closer to breaking the ancient prophecy that binds them.

My Thoughts:

This is a great sequel to Tiger’s Curse. Houck does an amazing job continuing the story and starting us on new adventures.

The first few chapters focus on Kelsey settling back into her old life and beginning college. Mr. Kadam has arranged everything for her including a place to live, a dream car and even enrolling her in her college courses. It doesn’t take very long for the dangers of the curse to return and for Kelsey, Ren and Kishan to all get caught up in the adventures again. It is slightly different this time around as Ren is captured and it’s Kelsey and Kishan working together to find the next piece of the puzzle and to save Ren. I really enjoyed getting to know Kishan better throughout this book. I am starting to like him more and more.

Tiger’s Quest contains everything I loved about the first book-wonderful characters, complex relationships, action, adventure, romance and heartbreak. The visual concepts that Houck implements into her novels are stunning. They instantly transport the reader to the various settings. The characters are well thought out and are believable.

I love the introduction of all the new mythology that the adventure into Tibet brings. I am constantly amazed at Houck’s skill at weaving together so many different mythologies to create a wonderful story.

I loved this book and am eagerly awaiting Tiger’s Voyage!? ? ? ?
